Answer:

\large \text{$x=\dfrac{1}{2}$}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

\large \text{$p(x)=2x^2-2x+\dfrac{1}{2}=0$}

We have to factorise the p ( x ).

By splitting mid term method we have

\large \text{$p(x)=2x^2-2x+\dfrac{1}{2}=0$}\\\\\\\large \text{$p(x)=2x^2-x-x+\dfrac{1}{2}=0$}\\\\\\\large \text{$p(x)=x(2x-1)-\dfrac{1}{2}(2x-1) =0$}\\\\\\\large \text{$p(x)=(2x-1)(x-\dfrac{1}{2})=0$}

Zeroes of p ( x )

\large \text{$p(x)=(2x-1)(x-\dfrac{1}{2})=0$}\\\\\\\large \text{$(2x-1)=0 \ or \ (x-\dfrac{1}{2})=0$}\\\\\\\large \text{$(2x)=1 \ or \ (x)=\dfrac{1}{2}$}\\\\\\\large \text{$x=\dfrac{1}{2}$}\\\\\\\large \text{So both value of $x =\dfrac{1}{2}$}

Thus we get answer.
