Condition for equal roots:
D=0
=> b^2 -4ac= 0
Here ,
a= p
b= -5
and , c= p
On putting these values,
(-5)^2 -4×p×p =0
=> 25 - 4p^2 = 0
=> 25 = 4p^2
=> 25/4 = p^2
=> +-√25/4 = p
=> p = +5/2 and -5/2
