x+2y=-4
Can someone please show me how to solve this problem and explain each step ! I am in desperate help and cannot afford a tutor. Thanks to whatever kind soul that helps.

1.multiply 2 in 2nd eqn
2x+4y=-8
2.now subtract eqn 1 from 2
-7y=21
we get y = -3
3. now put it in any eqn to get x
we get x=2
now you can check these anwers by putting in any eqn

2x-3y=13-------> *1
x+2y = -4------> *2
----------------------------
2x-3y=13
2x+4y= -8
----------------------------
-7y= 21
y= -3
x+2y= -4
x+(2* -3)= -4
x= -4-(-6)
= -4+6
= 2
