Answer:

2x+3y=6---- (1)

3x+2y=4 ----(2)

______________________________-

(1) --> 3(2x+3y) = 6*3

--> 6x + 9y = 18--- (3)

(2)-->2(3x+2y) = 4 *2

-->6x+4y=8---(4)

_______________________________-

now, (3) - (4)

6x+9y-6x-4y=18-8

5y=10

y = 10/2

y = 5

and from (1),

2x + 3*5 = 6

2x + 15 = 6

2x = -9

x = -9/2

x = -4.5

____________________________________-

so, x+y = -4.5 + 5 = 0.5
