2x+3y=7---(1)

3x+y=14---(2)

multiplying by 3 in equation (2),

9x+3y=42---(3)

equation (3) - equation (1),

9x + 3y = 42

2x + 3y = 7

-___-______-___

7x = 35

x = 35÷7

x = 5

substituting the value of x=5 in equation (2),

3x+y=14

3(5)+y=14

15 +y=14

y= 14-15

y= -1

it will help you.
