Given That:

2x+3y=9

xy=3

To Find:

4x²+9y²

Solution:

4x²+9y² can be written as

(2x)²+(3y)²

now apply a²+b² formula

a²+b² = (a+b) ²-2ab

= (2x+3y)²-2×2x×3y

= (9)²-12xy :. [ 2x+3y=9 ]

= 81-12xy

= 81-12×3 :. [ xy=3 ]

= 81-36

= 45

Answer :

45
