It would be easier to combine all the constants (numbers on it's own, i.e. 10 & 5) at one side of ‘equals to’ sign and remaining (2x) to the other side of it. So, we can move 5 to the other side of the ‘equals to’ sign, hence it will change its sign & will become Negative Five (-5).
2x = 10 - 5
2x = 5
Now, in simple words, ‘2’ is only number associated with ‘x’ on the Left Hand Side, so the ‘2’ can be shifted to the other side of the equation.
As it is multiplying the x on L.H.S., it'll divide the other side of the equation, as we move it to the other side.
x = 5 / 2
x = 2.5
