Answer : (x = 3) and (y = 5)

3x - 4 = y ........(2)

-2x + 5y = 19 .........(1)

-2x + 5(3x - 4) = 19

-2x + 15x - 20 = 19

13x = 19 + 20

13x = 39

x = 3

On applying the value of x in eqn (2), we get

3x - 4 = y

3(3) - 4 = y

9 - 4 = y

5 = y

Hope it helps you
