Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey there !!

____________________________________

2x – 5y + 8 = 0 ...(1)

x – 4y + 7 = 0 ...(2)

From (2)

x = 4y – 7

Substituting x's value in (1)

2 ( 4y – 7 ) – 5y + 8 = 0

8y – 14 – 5y + 8 = 0

3y – 6 = 0

3y = 6

y = 6 / 3

y = 2

Putting y = 2 in (2)

x – 4 ( 2 ) + 7 = 0

x – 8 – 7 = 0

x – 1 = 0

x = 1

Thus, values of x and y are 1 and 2 respectively.
