2x + 7y = 11

3x=y+5

2x+7y=11÷3

3x-1y=5÷2

6x+21y=33

6x-2y=10

--------------

23y=23

y=1

sub 2x+7y=11 ,y=1

2x+7(1)=11

2x+7=11

2x=11-7

2x=4

x=4/2

x=2

hence x=2 and y=1
