Given:

  • 2x - 9y = 9

  • 5x + 2y = 27

To Find:

Find the Value of x and y

Solution:

By elimination method :-

→ [ 2x - 9y = 9 ] × 2

[ 5x + 2y = 27 ] × 9

→ 4x - 18y = 18

45x + 18y = 243

_________________

→ 49x = 261

→ x = 261/49

Now, Substituting the value of x on 2x - 9y = 9, we get :

→ 2(261/49) - 9y = 9

→ 522/49 - 9y = 9

→ 522 - 441y/49 = 9

→ 522 - 441y = 441→ 522 - 441 = 441y

→ 81 = 441y

→ y = 81/441

→ y = 9/49

Hence,

Hence, The value of x is 261/49 and y is 9/49

Verification :-

→ 2x - 9y = 9

→ 2(261/49) - 9(9/49) = 9

→ 522/49 - 81/49 = 9

→ 522-81/49 = 9

→ 441/49 = 9

→ 9 = 9

LHS = RHS

And

→ 5x + 2y = 27

→ 5(261/49) + 2(9/49) = 27

→ 1305/49 + 18/49 = 27

→ 1323/49 = 27

→ 27 = 27

LHS = RHS

Hence,

Verified.
