2x + y = 35 \:  \:  \:  \: (i)

3x + 4y = 65 \:  \:  \: (ii)

using \: substitution \: method

from \: equation(i) \: we \: get

2x + y = 35

x =  \frac{35 - y}{2}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: (iii)

putting \: x =  \frac{35 - y}{2}  \: in \:  {eq}^{n}  \: (ii)

3x + 4y = 65

3( \frac{35 - y}{2} ) + 4y = 65

105 - 3y + 8y = 130

5y = 130 - 105

y =  \frac{25}{5}

y = 5

putting \: y = 5 \: in \:  {eq}^{n} (iii)

x =  \frac{35 - y}{2}

x =  \frac{35 - 5}{2}

x =  \frac{30}{2}

x = 15

so \: x = 15 \: and \: y = 5
