Solution

Given :-

  • 2x + y = 4 _________(1)
  • x + 2y = 2 _________(2)

Find :-

  • Value of x & y

Explanation

Use Substitution Method.

By , equ(1).

➡y = 4 - 2x ____________(4)

Keep Value of y in equ(2)

➡x + 2(4 - 2y) = 2

➡x + 8 - 4y = 2

➡-3y = 2 - 8

➡y = -5 (-3)

➡y = 5/3

Keep Value of y in equ(4)

➡5/3 = 4 - 2x

➡2x = 4 - 5/3

➡2x = (12-5)/3

➡2x = 7/3

➡x = 7/6

______________________

Answer Verification

Keep Value of x & y in equ(1)

➡2 × 7/6 + 5/3 = 4

➡7/3 + 5/3 = 4

➡(7 + 5)/3 = 4

➡12/3 = 4

➡4 = 4

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

That's Proved.
