Answer:

2x + y = 6

4x -2y = 4

now, 2x + y = 6 (i)

    and 2x - y= 2 (ii) (dividing the equation by 2)

substract (ii) from (i)

        2y=4

          y=2

we have 2x + y = 6

     so,     2x +2 =6

                2x = 4

                   x = 2
