if x=2
2x+y=6 = 2(2)+y=6
= 4+y=6
y=6-4
y=2...

second case,
2x-y=2
=2(2)-2=2
=4-2=2
=2=2
Hence proved that x=2 and y=2...!

2x+y = 6
2x-y = 2

y = 4

sub, y=4 in (1)

2x+y = 6
2x+(4) = 6
2x = 6-4
2x = 2
x = 1

x = 1
y = 4
