Answer:

x = 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Factorising the given quadratic equation, we get :

 = > 2 {x}^{2}  - 2x +  \frac{1}{2}  = 0  \\  \\  =  > 4 {x}^{2}  - 4x + 1 = 0 \\  \\  =  > 4 {x}^{2}  - 2x - 2x + 1 = 0 \\  \\  =  > 2x(2x - 1) - 1(2x - 1) = 0 \\  \\  =  > (2x - 1)(2x - 1) = 0 \\  \\  =  > x =  \frac{1}{2} \:or \: \frac{1}{2}\\  \\  = > x = \frac{1}{2}  \:  \:  \: ans

Thanks !!

Given ,

The polynomial is 2x² - 2x + ½

By middle term splitting method ,

 \sf \hookrightarrow 2 {(x)}^{2}  - 2x +  \frac{1}{2}  = 0 \\  \\ \sf \hookrightarrow 4 {(x)}^{2}  - 4x + 1 = 0 \\  \\ \sf \hookrightarrow 4 {(x)}^{2}  - 2x - 2x + 1 = 0 \\  \\ \sf \hookrightarrow 2x(2x - 1) - 1(2x - 1) = 0 \\  \\ \sf \hookrightarrow (2x - 1)(2x - 1) = 0 \\  \\ \sf \hookrightarrow x =  \frac{1}{2}  \:  \: or \:  \: x =  \frac{1}{2}

 \therefore  \underline{\sf \bold{The \:  value \:  of \:  x \:  is  \:  \frac{1}{2} }}
