Answer :

Now,

2x³ + x² + 9x + 17

= 2x³ - 4x² + 5x² - 10x + 19x - 38 + 55

= 2x²(x - 2) +5x(x - 2) + 19(x - 2) + 55

= (x - 2) (2x² + 5x + 19) + 55

∴ the quotient is (2x² + 5x + 19) and the remainder is 55.

Hi ,

It is given that ,

( 2x³ + x² + 9x + 17 ) ÷ ( x - 2 )

x - 2) 2x³ + x² + 9x + 17 ( 2x²+5x+19
****** 2x³ - 4x²
________________
************ 5x² + 9x
************ 5x² - 10x
________________
****************** 19x + 17
****************** 19x - 38
___________________
*************************( 55 )

Therefore ,

Dividend = 2x³ + x² + 9x + 17

Divisor = x - 2

Quotient = 2x² + 5x + 19

Remainder = 55

I hope this helps you .
