=let you be 1

p(y)=2y^3+y^2-2y-1

p(1)=2*1+1-2*1-1 =2+1-2-1

=2+1-3

=2-2

=0

:hence y =1

than( y - 1 = 0) ...factor one

-afrer you will divide the whole p(y)=(2y^3+y^2-2y-1) by (y-1)

you will get the second equations and after you need to do the middle term splitting after which you will get the last two factors
