Step-by-step explanation:

ax^2 + bx + c = 0

1 . a = 3, b = 13 , c = 12

Clearly ,

3x² + 13x + 12 = 0

3x² +9x + 4x + 12 = 0 [as 3*12 = 9*4]

3x(x+3) + 4(x+3) = 0

(3x+4)(x+3) = 0

You can simply go for determinant method if you only want roots.

y2 +9y+ 20 = 0

y^2 +5y + 4y +20 = 0

y(y+5) + 4(y+5) = 0

(y+5)(y+4)= 0
