Amit's  salary in 2016 was Rs. 1,00,000.

Amit's salary in 2018= Rs. 126500

Salary increment in 2017= 10℅

Salary increment in 2018= 15℅

Let the salary in 2016 be x

So the salary in 2017 is= (110/100)* x

Also, the salary in 2018 is= (115/100) (110/100)* x

As salary amount in 2018 is already given, we can write:

(115/100) (110/100)* x= 126500

On solving this we get x = Rs. 1,00,000

Therefore, his salary in 2016 was Rs. 1,00,000.

Answer:

Amit's salary in 2016 was 1000000

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the initial salary be x.

In 2017, the salary increased by 10%. So, the new salary was (1.10)x = 1.1x

In 2018, the salary increased by 15%. So, the new salary was (1.15)(1.1x) = 1.265x

1.265x was the salary in 2018.

Since we are given the salary in 2018 as 1265000, we equate the two.

We have:

1.265x = 1265000

x = 1265000/1.265

x = 1000000

Therefore, Amit's salary in 2016 was Rs 1000000
