. 3.24 x 10-4 J of work is done in taking 3.0 x 10°C
of charge in a uniform electric field from one point to
the other. If the distance between the points be 12 cm,
calculate the intensity of the electric field.

Intensity of the electric field = 9 * 10^4 N/C

Explanation:

Given:

 Work w = 3.24 * 10^-4 J

Charge q = 3.0 * 10^-8  C

radius r = 12 cm = 0.12 m

Find: Intensity of the electric field

Solution:

w = qv

Where w is the work, q is the charge and v is the potential in volts.

Therefore v = w/q

But we know that E = v / r = w/ qr = 3.24 * 10^-4 / (3.0 * 10^-8  *  0.12 )

    = 9 * 10^4 N/C

Answer:

V=W/Q

W=3.24×10-⁴

q=3×10-8

V=3.24×10-4/3×10-8

V=1.08×10⁴
