Here is the solution:

----------------------------------------

Find the fraction of women at the banquet:

Fraction of men = 3/4

Fraction of women = 1 - 3/4 = 1/4

Find the fraction of men who chose chicken as entrée:

1/2 x 3/4 = 3/8

Find the fraction of women who chose chicken as entrée:

2/5 x 1/4 = 1/10

Total fraction of the attendees who chose chicken as entrée:

3/8 + 1/10 = 19/40

Answer: 19/40 of the attendees chose chicken as entrée
