3. A 30mm outside diameter steam pipe is to be covered with 2 layers of insulation each having
thickness of 25mm. The average thermal conductivity of one insulating material is 5 times that of
other. Determine the % decrease in heat transfer if better insulating material is put next to the pipe
than it forms the outer layer. Assume that outside and inside surface temperatures of the composite
insulation are fixed.​
