3. A body of mass 10 kg is taken from the earth to the
moon. If the value of g on earth is 9.8 m s2 and on
moon is 1.6 m s-, find : (i) the weight of the body
on earth, (ii) the mass and weight of the body on
moon.
Given, mass on the earth m = 10 kg,
Search =
= 9.8 m s-2,

Answer:

Hi

Ok,just let's know what is mass and what is weight actually

Talking about mass,it is a basic property of a body of measuring how much matter does it has hence it won't change anywhere (but a body travelling near to the speed of light appears to be changed, that and all Einstein's theory of relativity, let's not digg too deeper)

But,weight is actually the force that we feel from it due to a body’s force and it might change accordingly and net force is (according to Newton's 2nd law) mass×acceleration

Ok ,let's come to your question

You may now guessed the answer

Yes,the mass is same on the moon which is 10 kg but weight is about to change in moon.

Great day….
