Car travels at a speed of 80km/hour for 15 minutes
We know Distance = speed × time
Distance travelled in 15 minutes or 0.25 hour
Distance = 80 km/h × 0.25 hour = 20 kilometers
and then at a speed of 40km/hour for the next 15 minutes.
Distance travelled in next 15 minutes or 0.25 hour
Distance = 40 km/hour × 0.25 hour
Distance = 10 kilometers
Now average speed of car = total distance travelled / total time
Average speed = (20 km + 10 km)/ (0.25 + 0.25) hours
Average speed = 30/0.50 kilometer/hour
Average speed = 60 kilometers/hour
Answer:
C) 35km
Explanation:
A car moves with a speed of 80 km / hr for 15 min.
So, 80÷4= 20 km / 15 min.
Then the car moves with a speed of 60 km / hr for 15 min.
So, 60÷4= 15 km /15 min.
Therefore, total distance covered by the car = 20 km +15 km = 35 km.
