The density of denser liquid will be dl2 = 2.6 x 10^3 kg/m^3.

Explanation:

Cross sectional area of cylinder = A

Density of cylinder = 1.40 x 1000 kg / m^3

V(im) / V to = do / dl

do = dl [ V(im)/V(to) + dl2 [V (im2) / Vto ]

1.4 = 1 (3/4) +x (1/4)

14/10 -3/4 = x / 4

4 ( 28 - 25)/ 20 = x

x = dl2 = 18/5 = 2.6 x 10^3 kg/m^3

dl2 = 2.6 x 10^3 kg/m^3

Hence the density of denser liquid will be dl2 = 2.6 x 10^3 kg/m^3.
