The final velocity of the body is 16.35 m/s.

Given:

m1 = 1 kg

m2 = 2 kg

t = 5 sec

g = 9.81 m/s²

To Find:

The final velocity of the body.

Solution:

We know the acceleration formula for two masses in vertical connection by a pulley is

acceleration,

a = (m2-m1)g÷(m1+m2)

                   = ((2-1)×9.81)÷3

                   = 9.81÷3

                   =3.27 m/s²

From the equation of motions,

v = u + at      (at rest u = 0)

  = 0 + 3.27×5

   = 16.35 m/s

Therefore, The final velocity of the body is 16.35 m/s.
