3. Cards marked with the numbers 2 to 101 are placed in a box and

mixed thoroughly. One card is drawn from this box. Find the

probability that the number on the card is

(i) A number which is a perfect square.

(ii) A prime number less than 20.​

No.of cards = 100

(i) No.of perfect square no.bearing cards = 9

Probability of drawing a card whose no. is a perfect square = 9/100 =0.09 (Ans)

(ii) No. of prime no. cards less than 20 = 8

Probability of drawing a card having a prime no.less than 20 = 8/100 = 2/25 = 0.08 (Ans)
