Given the co-ordinates of three vaccination centers , answer the given questions.

Explanation:

  • Given are three vaccination centers A, B, and C.
  • Given is that Mr. Jaskirat Singh is at the origin then we the co- ordinates of the vaccination centers (from the figure) as,                              J(0,0),\ A(3,1),\ B(6, 4)\ and\ C(8,6)
  • Hence, the nearest vaccination center is the one having nearest co- ordinates to the origin. That is vaccination center A.
  • Now to determine the ratio that B divides the line joining A and C we have,                                                                                                                        AB=\sqrt{(6-3)^2+(4-1)^2}  \ \  \ \ \ \ \ \  BC= \sqrt{(6-8)^2+(4-6)^2}\\->AB= 3\sqrt{2},\ \ BC=2\sqrt{2}  \\->\frac{AB}{BC}=\frac{3}{2}                         The ration that B divided line AC in is 3:2
  • Now the distance between vaccination centers A and C is,                                  AC=AB+BC\\AC=3\sqrt{2}+2\sqrt{2} \\->AC=5\sqrt{2}   -----ANSWER
  • If he went B but the doses are finished the nearest center is C and that distance is , BC=2\sqrt{2}
  • The distance between his home and vaccination center C is,                           JC=\sqrt{(8-0)^2+(6-0)^2}\\JC=10  -----ANSWER
