3. Dwalin is the first of the dwarves to arrive at Bilbo's home after Gandalf ''scratched a queer sign on the hobbit's beautiful green front-door.'' Bilbo is pretty surprised to see the dwarf, especially when he makes himself right at home as though he were expected. Like other dwarves, Dwalin has a rather impressive beard that is tucked into a golden belt when he arrives at Bilbo's. What is most interesting about this beard is that it is blue. As the other dwarves arrive, we see that each wears a different color hood, and these colors are used to identify the dwarf. In Dwalin's case, that color is gree.
