The space between the contour lines reflects the slope.

Contour lines are the lines on the map joining points of equal height above or below the sea level.

Based on this there are two types of slopes

1) Where the contour line is farther apart, it is called gentle slope.

2) Where contour lines are closer to each other, it is called a steep slope.
