DIFFERENCE-

Static friction-The friction between the two surfaces of the bodies which are in contact with each other and also at rest relatively is called static friction

Sliding friction-sliding friction refers to the resistance created by two objectssliding against each other. This can also be called kinetic friction. Sliding friction is intended to stop an object from moving.

WHICH IS GREATER-

Static friction is obviously greaterbecause sliding friction acts when an object is moving and during motion, the irregularities in the two surfaces in contact do not get enough time to interlock with each other.
