Cornea - it acts as a protective layer for the eye

Aquous humor - it acts as a lubricant for the eye ball

Iris -it gives characteristic eye color to the person.

Optic nerve-it is responsible for the adjustment of the focal length.

Pupil- when light enters into the pupil, it contracts. In dark areas the pupil enlarges. It is this self - adjustment of the pupil, which protects the eye from excessive light or in dim light.

Retina - it acts as a screen for the eye. The image is formed on retina.
