So, we need to take this polynomial as p(y) because we are discussing about y variable .(for x p(x))

As given value of y = -12

Then 9y-y+2+7=0

p(y) = 8(-12)+9

p(y) = (-96)+9

Value of the given polynomial = -87.

By using factor theory I found value of given polynomial in a short method.we have one more method of doing this question that is long division method of factors it is too long tough to do this is te best way to do.
