3. Five cards are drawn from a pack of 52 cards. What is the chance that these 5 will contain:
(i) just one ace
(ii) at least one ace?

Solution :-

  • Step 1 :- Given that 5 cards are drawn form 52 cards , so first of all find total no. of ways .

step 2 :- for (1) just one ace , let E event that contains only 5 cards exactly one ace .

  • then find no. of ways .

  • step :- 3 then find p(E) = n(E)/n(S)

Similarly in 2nd case .

According to given .. find n(s) and n(E) then P(E)

Let there E be the event in 5 cards and that contains atleast one ace .

E = (1, or 2, or 3, or 4)
