Answer:

(a) Gases have a negligible intermolecular force of attraction between the particles of gas. As a result, the random motion of particles in all directions is experiencing in the vessel. Hence, the gas fills thevessel in which it is kept.

(b) The pressure exerted by a gas is due to the random motion of particles in thegas. Gases have weak intermolecular forces and the particles in continuous random motion and these particles collide with the walls of the container. These collisions with the walls of the container exerts pressure on the gas.

(c) It has a definite shape and volume. It is very rigid and cannot be compressed, it has a solid characteristic.

(d) We can easily move our hand in air but to do the same through a solid block of wood we need a karate expert. It isbecause the molecules of air has less force of attraction between them a
