Light is very essential for photosynthesis as when the carbon dioxide and water reach the leaf that time the sunlight which is absorbed by the chloroplasts takes a chemical reaction with carbon dioxide and water in which the water gets separated into hydrogen and oxygen. Oxygen is released into the atmosphere through the stomata that is present under the leaves while hydrogen and carbon dioxide with the help of chlorophyll and sunlight make glucose. Some of the glucose is used by the plant while the other is stored in the leaves in the form of starch, so that it can be used afterwards while needed.
