When a positively charged object touches a neutral object (in the case of a conductor) the charge gets distributed between the two bodies. When they are separated they both acquire half of the total charge of the system. For example, if a metallic sphere charged  +2μC  when brought in contact with a similar neutral metallic sphere of the same dimensions then the charge gets redistributed between the two bodies. If two spheres are separated then each metallic sphere acquires  1μC of charge.
