Given :  n(A) = 3, n( s) = 12

To Find : P(A)

Solution:

P(A)  = Probability of event A

n(A) = number of possible out comes of event A

n(S) = number of total possible outcomes  ( sample space)

P(A) = n(A)/n(S)

=> P(A) = 3/12

=> P(A) = 1/4

=> P(A) = 0.25

P(A) is 1/4  or 0.25

Probability of any event lies between 0 and 1 ( including both )

Probability 0 = impossible event

Probability 1 = Sure event
