prob that Rahul hits the target : P(R) = 5/7
prob that Sheela hits the target : P(S) = 3/4

hitting the target by both of them is independent event.

prob that both hit the target = P(R) x P(S) = (5/7) x (3/4) = 15/28

This is the original question:

In a shooting competition, probability of A hitting target is 2/5, by B is 2/3 and C is 3/5. If all of them fire independently, what is the probability that only one will hit target?

A) 4/25

B) 1/3

C) 3/25

4) 2/3

Answer:

Probability of A hitting target is 2/5, by B is 2/3 and C is 3/5

a: 2/5 * 1/3 * 2/5 = 4/75

b: 3/5 * 2/3 * 2/5 = 12/75

c: 3/5 * 1/3 * 3/5 = 9/75

-------------------------------

a+b+c=25/75=1/3
