➡ Direct speech are those conversations that takes place between two or more people which are written down as they are with the correct words and pronunciations used.
➡ In indirect speech (i.e. reported speech), the conversation taken place between two or more people is reported by a third person.
➡ To change a direct conversation to indirect speech, we must turn the sentence into its corresponding past tense while denoting the names of the people who spoke the sentence.
