2∗log(x) to any base is log(x∗x) because a general property of logs is that log(a)+log(b)=log(ab).
So your expression reduces to 3log(x∗x). Now if we are using logs to base 3 this means 3log(y)=y so the expression reduces further to give just x∗x or x2.
