3. PR = 25 cm. With P and Ras centres, two circles of radii 12 cm and
cm are drawn. A third circle with centre Q and radius x cm is
drawn touching the first two circles externally and anglePQR = 90°.
Find the radius x.

The given are:

PR = 25cm

the radius of circle with centre P is: 12cm

the radius of circle with centre R is: 7cm

And, ∠ PQR = 90°

Now, PQ = x + 12 cm

QR = x + 7 cm

By using the Pythagoras theorem, we get:
