3. Rani bought a new field that is next to one she already owns (see the Fig.). This field is in the shape of a square of side 70 m. She makes a semi-circular lawn of maximum area in this field.
(i) Find the perimeter of the lawn.
(ii) Find the area of the square field excluding the lawn.

(i). perimeter of semi circle = 180m

(ii). 2975m²

1. Diameter of Semicircle is equal to side of square.

perimeter of semicircle = [(Perimeter of Circle)/2 + Diameter]

Area of semicircle = πr²/2

(22/7 × 35 × 35) ÷ 2

Area of Square field excluding lawn= 4900 - 1925 = 2975
