Oil plays a significant role in the life of man. There are three sources of oil - animals, vegetables
and minerals. Animal oil is used as food and medicine. Vegetable oil is used for cooking purposes.
Mineral oil drives motor cars, tanks, aeroplanes and warships. The scientists are not quite sure about
the origin of mineral oil. They think the oil under the surface of the earth originated from living
things in the sea. There are four main areas of oil deposits in the world. The first is the Middle East.
The next is between North and South America. The third is between Asia and Australia. The fourth
is near the North Pole. The last area is still untouched.
