There is a beautiful story about Babur's death. In 1530 AD his son Humayun became
seriously ill. He was brought to Agra by boat. But the treatment there did him no good. In
despair, Babur thought that he would offer to God the dearest thing he possessed and that
might save his son's life) Babur's courtiers suggested that jewels be offered to God. But
Babur thought that the dearest thing man possesses is his own life) So, going round his son's
bed thrice, he prayed to God that his own life be taken in exchange of his son's life. Following
this Humayun started getting better but Babur died after a few weeks.
