Given:-

  • The length of two sides of a triangle are 4 cm and 6 cm.

To find:-

  • Between what two measures  should the length of the third side fall?

Solution:-

Let the third side be 'x'.

❥ The sum of any 2 sides of a triangle are greater than third side.

Therefore,

→ x + 4 > 6 => x>2.....(1)

→ x+6 > 4

→ 4 + 6 > x => 10 > x ...(2)

From (1) & (2) :

→ 2 < x < 10

→ x ∈ ( 2,10 )

Hence, the third side falls btw 2 & 10 cm.
