Rearing of honeybees is called apiculture. The bees are bred commercially in apiaries. Apiary is an area where a large number of beehives can be placed. Here, the bees are taken care of and managed to produce wax and honey.

Pisciculture is the rearing of fish in large scale. The rearing of fish on a large scale is called Pisiclulture .

There are four basic components to a beehive. The bottom board, the supers, the frames and the cover(s). Within those hive components there are many different options to choose from.
