The young seagull was very hungry. His mother had a piece of fish in her beak and she was teasing the young seagull with it. Because the sight of the food "maddened" him, he wanted to snatch it from his mother. The young seagull dove towards the food not realizing that he was already flying.

The young seagull was so much hungry as he haven't ate anything from a long time so when his mother tore a scrap of fish and threw it down into the sea the sight of food falling maddened him and he dived to eat it and took his first flight.
