Good morning to everyone gathered today in the morning assembly.
Today as you stand in masses, I would like to extol the crucial importance of the correct use of the power we behold and channel it to bring better changes in the society reflecting upon my recently learned chapter "The Tiger King". The chapter narrates the tale of the valor of the mighty king born in the star of bull, who was destined to be killed by a tiger, and only killing a hundred tigers would save him from his destined death. The king started the quest to kill tigers and eventually succeeded in doing so to celebrate its victory gave his son a poorly carved wooden tiger idol whose rough surface lead to an incision in the king's palm and resulted in damage beyond repair which led to the demise of the king.
The important lesson that we can draw from the story, is that as we get the power to rule, we must not let it corrupt us. The death of a king was predestined and no amount of mass butchering could have altered that, instead the king should have greeted death as an old friend. To change his fate, the king killed all the tigers in his kingdom ignoring the role they unknowingly play in the ecosystem.
